Hello Urban Forestry Advocates,

Here's what's happening in urban and community forestry:

Research shows:
Correlation between
income level and tree cover

For every 1% increase in per capita income,
demand for forest cover increased by 1.76%.

But when income dropped by the same amount,
demand decreased by 1.26 percent resulting in
a demand curve more typical of demand for luxury goods
than necessities
. Showing lack of appreciation for  many of the valuable and life-giving benefits of trees like cleaning our air and water, providing shade, reducing stress and more.
