Learn about how we serve California’s trees and residents - Our Programs:
Invest From the Ground Up – a statewide education campaign to get the most civically-minded Californians to better understand the true value of our neighborhood trees. Through this campaign we partner with local community organizations to address their local issues around trees. The program also has a tree planting component (formerly known as United Voices for Healthier Communities). Over 12,000 trees have been planted to date! Learn more.
The Regional Councils – CaUFC supports 7 Regional Councils across California: Bay Area, Central Coast, Inland, LA/OC, San Diego, Sacramento Valley, and San Joaquin Valley. The Regional Councils bring professional expertise and experience to communities throughout the state through local events which help expand local urban forestry efforts.
Professional Education – Workshops are held throughout the year along with an annual conference. Topics have included: Arboriculture in the 21st century; The Built Environment & Public Health; Tree Risk & Urban Forestry; Saving our Children from Nature Deficit Disorder and so much more.
CA EnerTrees – A two part program with tree-planting for energy savings and carbon sequestration as a focus in Marin County, CA; and a website under development for the use of community organizations, cities and energy companies to reduce energy use by strategically planting trees, in partnership with the National Arbor Day Foundation.
Public Policy – We support a variety of advocacy efforts ranging from Urban Forest CAR Protocols to Cap and Trade Revenue Allocations and others.
The Urban Forest Management Plan Toolkit – An online toolkit allowing managers of large tracts of trees to create a master plan for their city, neighborhood, golf course, or home owner’s association.
